Dia de los Muertos Opening Reception and Talk

Join Us for the Opening Reception and Curator Talk Curator Talk @6p by Dr. Jose Guadalupe Flores, Ph.D, Anthropologist and Professor from UABC.  Stay for Mexican hot chocoloate and Pan de Muertos and listen as Dr. Flores talks about the traditional altar honoring Sor Juana Inéz de la Cruz, Writer, Poet, Women’s Rights Activitst, Nu (c.1651-1695) – A 17th century nun, self-taught scholar and acclaimed writer of the Latin American colonial perios and the Hispanic Baroque.

Discover America through Food: Honoring the Stories and Journeys of New American Chefs   The New Americans Museum is taking your senses to another level for the 2018 New Americans Museum Soiree. Guests will be treated to a memorable and uniquely artful evening of special menus created by our region’s premier guest chefs who will share their immigrant journeys through food.  The evening will conclude with live entertainment and dancing.
